I don’t agree with it but I can see the vendor’s point of view. Back then a Mac Plus was one spendy box. It was $2,599 (about $7700 in today’s money). What better way to pull in cash than to sell the most expensive computer in your store. The Amiga 1000 cost a bit less than half as much.

Temporarily defeated by this #NeXTcube power supply issue. Running out of time before #VCF #Montreal.

It works for about 15 mins, then shuts down. Fails to start a few times. Then starts and runs for ~15 mins. Motherboard battery is good. No caps look bad. No leaks. Solder joints look good. Seems to fail to latch when it won’t start (12V rail gets up to 9 or so). Fine voltages when it’s running. Reduced load by removing components and same. 🤷‍♂️
