Hmm, wonder what I can do with a roughly 20 year old Via Mini-ITX box? I used to be all about these things, but they were never fast computers. These is a salvaged SonicWall Continuous Data Protection (selective offsite backup) box. It had a 160 GB ATA drive in it, but that’s toast. Runs off 12 V.

I suspect many people who even get the nextcube reference in the first place will remember that time that simson garfinkel burned the case of one to see what would happen (they’re made of magnesium) but iirc they actually got next to give them a spare case, no actual workstations were harmed

I didn’t realize how small the Steam “Cube” is. It’s only slightly bigger (length and width) than a new Mini. It is however disappointingly not a real cube, more cube-ish than a G4 Cube but less than the OC NeXTcube.
